BIKE MECHANIC/SHOP MANAGER
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bike Mechanic/Shop Manager to lead our bicycle repair and retail operations. The ideal candidate should possess a deep passion for cycling, excellent mechanical skills, and the ability to run a successful bike shop. You will be responsible for ensuring the shop operates efficiently, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of bicycle repair and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Bicycle Repair and Maintenance:
Perform expert-level bicycle repairs and maintenance, including tune-ups, wheel truing, brake adjustments, and more.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues with bicycles.
Ensure all repaired bikes meet safety standards and customer expectations.

2. Customer Service:
Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers with their bike-related needs, offering advice, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Maintain a welcoming and knowledgeable shop environment.
3. Inventory Management:
Manage inventory levels of bicycles, parts, and accessories.
Place orders, receive shipments, and maintain accurate records of stock.
Monitor sales trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
4. Shop Operations:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bike shop, including opening and closing procedures.
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

5. Sales and Marketing:
Brainstorm and help promote sales and upsell services, parts, and accessories to customers.
Help collaborate with marketing efforts to drive foot traffic and increase sales.
Participate in community events and sponsorships to raise the shop’s profile (with compensation).
6. Safety and Compliance:
Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
-Proven experience as a bicycle mechanic, with a strong knowledge of various bicycle types, components, and repair techniques.
-Previous experience in a bike shop or similar retail environment.
-Excellent customer service and communication skills.
-Proficiency in using bike repair tools and equipment.
-Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
-Basic computer skills for inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
-Passion for cycling and an understanding of the cycling community.
-Ability to work Saturday’s, as needed.
-A commitment to promoting sustainable transportation and outdoor recreation.
-Ability to lift and maneuver bicycles and heavy equipment.
-Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with bike repair.
-Must have transportation to get to work.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certification in bicycle mechanics is a plus.
